Jamie's Ministry Of Food

*****

I don't think Jamie Oliver is capable of making a bad TV programme at this stage. Wonderfully engaging, interesting, emotional TV that gets you annoyed...

Masterchef - The Professionals Finale

*****

This is the Masterchef I want to see. Forget the amateurs and the celebrities, I don't want to see mediocre cheffing, I want to see professionals who have passion for food, talent for cooking and can inspire me. This short series came to a...

The Restaurant, Series 2, BBC 2

*****

Love this series in which 9 couples compete to run a restaurant with Raymond Blanc.

The Restaurant (BBC2)

*****

An almost perfect show about food and business. Only one set of donkeys in first episode. Expect much drama! I have to assume the 9th couple (a mother and daughter) was the comedy section of the show. Tinned mango mixed with cream was the dish they...

Masterchef, The Professionals

*****

Not quite Top Chef but the presence of Michel Roux transforms it. High end cooking and great TV.

*****

At Electric Picnic. Stunning impressive show. As expected, the sound was awesome and overwhelming, jaayysus the crescendos during the final number made you want to scream for release.

At Electric Picnic. Great energy, great crowd, shite sound! Disappointed fans all round. Could barely hear the vocals. Didnt even recognise 'This Month, Day 10' initially. It's like going to see a film that's out of focus, totally unacceptable.

Pivot

*****

At Electric Picnic. Interesting for 3 numbers, if 'math rock' is your thing. Heavy on the drums and guitars with synth/prog. No vocals, bar the odd drone.

When Will There Be Good News? by Kate Atkinson

famron

Mildly entertaining, not as enjoyable as her last #book, One Good Turn. And it is darker, maybe that's the problem.
